Christy Confetti Higgins is a Lecturer at the San José State University School of Information, where she teaches courses in information technology applications, digital content lifecycle, emerging technologies, and social media in library management. She holds an MLIS from SJSU (1999) and a BS from the University of California, Davis (1995). Professionally, she serves as a Cybrarian at Oracle, leading the Virtual Information Services team within Oracle’s HR Communications and Information Services organization.

Her research and professional interests center on digital and virtual libraries, information architecture, enterprise information sharing, social media, knowledge management, and the use of virtual worlds for learning. She is passionate about leveraging data and new technologies to enhance employee information experience, improve learning, and communicate the impact of information services. Her work bridges corporate information services and academic instruction, emphasizing strategic planning, user-centered design, and information technology integration.
Although she has not published formal academic articles, Christy is a recognized speaker at industry conferences such as Internet Librarian, LearnTrends, and SLA events. She has contributed to professional publications including Information Outlook, Intranet Professional, and has been interviewed by KM World, Searcher, and Library Journal. Her expertise is further recognized through advisory roles with major content providers.

Christy advises on curriculum and professional development through her teaching and advisory board memberships. She co-taught ClickU in Virtual Worlds for SLA and actively promotes innovation in information services.
