Christos Karagiannopoulos serves as an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program within the College of Healthcare Professions at DeSales University, maintaining full-time academic responsibilities while concurrently practicing as a part-time certified hand therapist for ATI Physical Therapy.
His educational qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Temple University
- Master of Education in kinesiology from Temple University
- Master in Physical Therapy from MCP-Hahnemann University (now Drexel University) in 1999
- Doctor of Philosophy in kinesiology from Temple University in 2014
With 17 years of clinical experience in orthopaedic rehabilitation and certified hand therapy specialization since 2008, his research focuses on wrist joint sensorimotor control impairment following distal radius fractures and psychometric validation of wrist assessment tools. He integrates biomechanics and pathomechanics into evidence-based teaching for musculoskeletal conditions, directing the Musculoskeletal 1-3 and PT Modalities courses while co-teaching the Differential Diagnosis and Intervention series.
His scholarly recognition includes being invited as lead author for the APTA Clinical Practice Guidelines for distal radius fracture rehabilitation.
