Christopher Voigt-Goy

Christopher Voigt-Goy is an Associate Professor of Church History affiliated with the Academy of Sciences and Literature, Mainz. He has held research and teaching roles at institutions including the University of Wuppertal, Leibniz Institute of European History (Mainz), and Heidelberg University. His work centers on ecclesiastical legal history, history of Christianity in the modern era, and history of religious freedom in Europe, with a strong emphasis on Digital Humanities.

Research Interests include:

• Legal frameworks of confessional coexistence in Early Modern Europe
• Political and public theology across historical periods
• Digital methodologies for religious history analysis
• Reception of Enlightenment and Reformation ideas

Recent publications analyze topics such as the Erfurt "Liederstreit", "American" Religious Feeling during the Great Awakening, and "Religious Peace" legal orders. His editorial work includes volumes on authenticity, sociability, and diversity in church history.
