Christopher Viger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Western University. His research focuses on the relationship between language and thought, informed by cognitive neuroscience, exploring how neural connectivity underpins conceptual structures and the role of lexicon acquisition. He teaches and advises in philosophy of mind, psychology, and cognitive science, emphasizing critical thinking and cognitive biases. He holds a BSc from the University of Alberta, MSc from McGill University, MA from Carleton University, and a PhD from McGill University. His work bridges philosophy and empirical science, addressing topics such as semantic theory, interpretative effects, and the philosophy of neuroscience. Notably, he co-authored The philosopher’s paradox (2019) and contributed to debates on linguistic eliminativism and the binding problem. He actively supervises graduate students exploring concepts and cognitive frameworks.
