Christopher Tienken, Ed.D., is an Associate Professor at the Department of Education Leadership, Management and Policy within the Seton Hall College of Education and Human Services. He serves as a consultant for public schools in the U.S. and internationally, with collaborations at Universita degli Studi Roma Tre (Rome, Italy) and University of Catania (Sicily). His roles include Research Professor in Residence for the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) and editor of both the AASA Journal of Scholarship and Practice and the Kappa Delta Pi Record.
Tienken's research focuses on curriculum and assessment policy across local, state, national, and international contexts. Recent publications analyze the predictability of standardized test scores through demographic data, critique systemic issues like academic redlining, and explore alternatives in education practices. His work has been highlighted in Forbes and academic journals, emphasizing the misalignment between standardized testing and authentic student learning.
