Dr. Christopher Steele serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Concordia University, leading the Neural Architecture, Behaviour, and Connectivity (NeuralABC) Laboratory. His research bridges quantitative neuroimaging and clinical neuroscience to decode brain structure-function relationships.
Research interests focus on:
- Training-related neuroplasticity and motor control electrophysiology
- Cerebellar-cortical connectivity architecture
- White matter disconnection in stroke and Alzheimer's disease
- Quantitative physiologically-specific MRI development
- Computational image segmentation and registration
The lab employs multimodal MRI, diffusion imaging, longitudinal training designs, and Python-based computational tools. Professor Steele teaches advanced courses in neuroanatomy, sensation/perception, and computational neuroscience while leading international workshops. Active collaborations include Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and Montreal Neurological Institute, with open-source tools publicly available via GitHub. The lab regularly recruits honours students, graduate researchers, and post-doctoral fellows interested in computational neuroscience approaches to brain connectivity.
