Christopher S. Miller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Colorado Denver. He leads the Miller Lab, which focuses on microbial systems biology using bioinformatic and genome-enabled approaches. His research applies deep sequencing and bioinformatics to study complex microbial communities in environmental, bioenergy, and health contexts. He is affiliated with the Computational Bioscience Program at the Anschutz Medical Campus.
Expertise: Microbial community analysis, environmental microbiology, metagenomics, plasmid prediction, and bioenergy applications.
Lab Highlights: Recent work includes studies on 1,4-dioxane bioremediation mechanisms, plasmid contig annotation in environmental samples, and golden retriever microbiome research. Students like Alyssa Cruz (PhD candidate at Sanford Burnham Prebys) and Jessie Romero have contributed to impactful projects.
Affiliations: Department of Integrative Biology, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Computational Bioscience Program (Anschutz Medical Campus).
