Christopher Roast is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Digital Technologies at Sheffield Hallam University. His cross-disciplinary research focuses on interaction design, usability of notations/tools, visualization, VR/AR, and knowledge transfer. He co-leads the Communication and Computing Research Centre and Culture and Creativity Research Institute.
He directs industry collaborations including Innovate UK projects like SQLView and EQUS, and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships with Bloor and Co., Infraglo Ltd., and Balmoral Tanks. His work with SMEs spans digital media production, energy awareness tools, and spreadsheet usability enhancement.

He supervises PhD students in augmented reality design, Arabic text analysis, and online form usability.
