Professor Christopher Rauh is a Professor of Economics and Data Science at the Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge. He is also a Fellow of Trinity College Cambridge and an affiliated professor at the Barcelona School of Economics. His research focuses on Labour Economics, Political Economy, and Data Science with emphasis on conflict forecasting, health economics, automation impacts, and public policy analysis. He leads the Conflict Forecast initiative and contributes to projects with global institutions like the FCDO and IMF.
Key research themes include analyzing the economic consequences of conflict, measuring excess mortality during pandemics, and understanding labour market dynamics during crises. He has pioneered work on remote work feasibility across industries and the pandemic's unequal economic impacts. His interdisciplinary approach combines machine learning with traditional economic methodologies.
Professor Rauh has published in top journals such as the Journal of Public Economics and Economic Policy.
