Christopher P. Magra is a Professor of Early American History at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and serves as Director of the Center for the Study of Tennesseans and War. His research focuses on maritime dimensions of the American Revolution, slavery, and transatlantic economic rivalries.

His work examines intersections of Atlantic commerce, resource competition, and imperial crises, with a particular emphasis on ocean-centered history. He has contributed to journals like the International Review of Social History and New England Quarterly.

Magra has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on the American Revolution, colonial America, and global dimensions of historical events.
