Christopher Orzeszyna

Christopher Orzeszyna is a Professor at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin and holds a concurrent professorship at the National Defence University in Warsaw, where he is affiliated with the National Security Faculty. He has been the Chair of the Department of Human Rights since 2009 and has contributed extensively to legal scholarship through roles in editorial committees and scientific councils for journals like Annals of Juridical Sciences and Metryka.

His research focuses on Canon Law, European Union Law, and Human Rights, with a particular emphasis on the intersection of religious freedom and state law. His publications analyze topics such as EU constitutional frameworks, conscientious objection, and the legal dynamics between religious institutions and secular governance.

Recent work explores child rights, democratic conscientious objection, and EU defense policy, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to legal systems. He has participated in numerous academic conferences across Poland and Europe, addressing themes like Church-State relations and civil society in the EU.
