Christopher McAuley

Christopher McAuley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Black Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He specializes in African politics, Black intellectual history, and economic systems of the Americas.

His research focuses on northern and southern African politics, world systems theory, Caribbean/Latin American political economy, and economic history of the Americas. His publications explore themes of intellectual history and political economy, with his 2004 work examining Oliver C. Cox's contributions.

Honors include the Ford Foundation Research Fellowship for fieldwork in Ghana. His current project compares the scholarship of Max Weber and W.E.B. Du Bois.
