Christopher Lloyd is an Associate Professor of Learning and Teaching at the University of Hertfordshire, affiliated with the School of Creative Arts and the Centre for Learning, Access, and Student Success. He joined the university in 2016 and specializes in US literature, cultural memory, queer studies, and inclusive pedagogy. His research explores themes such as the American South, decolonization in higher education, and ungrading practices.
Education: PhD in English and Comparative Literature (Goldsmiths College, 2014), MA in Comparative Literary Studies (Goldsmiths College, 2010), and BA in English (Goldsmiths College, 2009).
Research Interests: Lloyd’s work bridges literary analysis and pedagogical innovation. His monographs include Rooting Memory, Rooting Place (2015) and Corporeal Legacies in the US South (2018), alongside co-edited volumes like The Affects of Pedagogy in Literary Studies (2023). He is also a poet, with Pick Up Your Feelings (2024) exploring modern queerness and digital identity.
Teaching: He teaches US literature and introductory literary studies, emphasizing inclusive and decolonial approaches. His supervision focuses on diverse topics within his research fields, with current advisees in Education, History, and Creative Writing.
