Christopher Klemek is an Associate Professor at George Washington University's Department of History, specializing in 20th-century U.S. and European urban history. His research examines urban policy, transatlantic urbanism, and the interplay between public policy and city life. He is the author of *The Transatlantic Collapse of Urban Renewal* (2011), which won major awards in urban studies and architectural history.
His work bridges academia and public engagement through projects like *DigitalDC*, an online archive showcasing community histories, and co-curated exhibitions such as the 2007 Jane Jacobs exhibit recognized with the William H. Whyte Award. Klemek teaches courses on urban history, public history, and capital cities, emphasizing experiential learning and digital humanities.
