Christopher Hundhausen

Christopher Hundhausen is a Professor and Associate Head for Online Education in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University's College of Engineering. He joined Oregon State University in 2022 after a 19-year tenure at Washington State University's School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, where he directed the Human-centered Environments for Learning and Programming (HELP) Lab and ABET accreditation efforts.

Hundhausen's research investigates how innovative technologies and pedagogical approaches can support computing and engineering education. His work focuses on designing and evaluating social learning environments, learning analytics systems, and pedagogical frameworks. He has secured five multi-institutional NSF grants involving thousands of undergraduates and over 100 faculty nationwide, and his publication record places him among the top 20 most cited authors in computing education research. He served as editor-in-chief of ACM Transactions in Computing Education (2015-2021) and is currently finalizing an advanced undergraduate textbook on full stack web development for Morgan Kaufmann (2023).
