Christopher High is a Senior Lecturer in Peace and Development Studies at Linnaeus University’s Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Social Studies. He joined LNU in 2016 from the Open University (UK) and focuses on participatory technologies, community development, and sustainable development education. His work spans sub-Saharan Africa, India, Europe, and Central Asia through funded projects addressing climate change adaptation, participatory methods, and refugee integration in Sweden.
Research interests include participatory video, AI-enhanced academic writing, and agro-food production modernization. He leads the AI for ISP seed project exploring ChatGPT for student support and contributes to the AgroDev EU project modernizing agro-industry education in Central Asia. He collaborates with research groups like the Center for Cultural Sociology and the Cluster for Borders of Justice.
Teaching emphasizes research methods and fieldwork supervision, including online courses in video production and environmental studies. He has supervised six PhD students to completion and co-authored works on participatory methodologies. Current projects include investigating migration-related social solidarity and refugee experiences through art-research collaborations.
