Christopher Herbert is the Managing Director of the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies and a Lecturer in Urban Planning and Design at Harvard's Graduate School of Design. His research focuses on housing policy, urban development, and the financial dimensions of homeownership. He leads the production of influential annual reports on the nation's housing and rental markets.
Herbert co-edited A Shared Future: Fostering Communities of Inclusion in an Era of Inequality (2018) and Homeownership Built to Last: Balancing Access, Affordability, and Risk After the Housing Crisis (2014). He holds a PhD in Public Policy from Harvard University.
