Christopher G Beevers

Christopher G. Beevers is a Professor and Graduate Adviser in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, holding the Wayne H. Holtzman Regents Chair in Psychology and directing the Institute for Mental Health Research. He earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Miami (2002), with postdoctoral training at Brown University. His research focuses on cognitive mechanisms underlying major depression, integrating experimental psychopathology methods, technology-driven interventions (e.g., internet-based therapies, smartphone tracking), and data science to personalize treatments. He leads the Mood Disorders Laboratory (MDL), exploring depression etiology, maintenance, and intervention efficacy through studies on attention bias, neural connectivity, and behavioral dynamics.

Teaching accolades include the 2017 Raymond Dickson Centennial Teaching Award and 2018 Silver Spurs Teaching Fellowship.
