Christopher Eckdahl is a Lecturer in Chemistry at Columbia University. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Physics from Oberlin College (2017) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University (2022). His graduate research under Professor Julia Kalow focused on developing strategies to control organic photochemical reactions and integrate photo-responsive behaviors into nanomaterials. He completed the Teaching Certificate Program at Northwestern's Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching. At Columbia since 2022, Eckdahl teaches organic chemistry and advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM education through active learning and alternative grading practices.
