Dr. Christopher Dorn is a Researcher in the Department of Organizational Sociology at the Faculty of Sociology, Universität Bielefeld. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Bielefeld University (2019), with a dissertation titled Beyond Compare? – US Hospitals and the Quest for Performance Control, supervised by Prof. Veronika Tacke and Associate Professor Susanna Alexius. Since October 2022, he has been a Post-Doc Research Associate in Prof. Tacke’s group, focusing on organizational sociology. His research interests include valuation studies, hospitals, medical tourism, digitalization, and waste within organizational contexts. Prior roles include post-doctoral positions at Trier University (2020–2022) and FernUniversität in Hagen, as well as teaching lectureships at Bielefeld University since 2008.
His work explores practices of performance control in healthcare systems, personnel selection in organizations, and the sociological dimensions of organizational valuation. He has contributed to projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and maintains an interdisciplinary approach to understanding organizational dynamics.
