Christopher Decker is a Research Associate at the Ignatz Bubis Endowed Chair for the History, Religion and Culture of European Jewry at Heidelberg University of Jewish Studies. He also serves as an academic staff member at the Department of Ancient History and Epigraphy at Heidelberg University.

He is currently pursuing a PhD on Princeps und Monarch, analyzing first-century CE imperial dynamics.
Recent publications focus on Ptolemaic-Roman relations, Arval acts under Caligula, and critical reviews of Nero and Josephus scholarship. He contributes biographical entries to the Neue Deutsche Biographie.
