Christopher D Goddard is an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Music at the University of Florida, specializing in composition, music theory, and contemporary performance. His work bridges academic and creative realms, with a focus on musical space and orchestration in modern eras.
Research interests include 20th- and 21st-century orchestration techniques and spatial concepts in music. He has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as NYO Canada, Esprit Orchestra, and Quatuor Molinari, with commissions from Lucerne Festival and Koerner Hall. His compositions are broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and CBC, and recorded on Innova and Naxos.
Recognition includes the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards, MacDowell Foundation support, and Prix collégien de musique contemporaine. Teaching focuses on theory and aural skills at the University of Florida.
