Christopher Boone

Christopher Boone is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University (2015), an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University (2009), and a B.S. from Cornell (2005). His research examines labor market policies, economic history, and agricultural/environmental economics.

Boone's work analyzes unemployment insurance impacts, historical labor migration patterns, and environmental effects on agriculture. He employs quasi-experimental methods to study tipping behavior in service industries and pollution-yield relationships. Prior appointments include Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, where he received teaching awards for courses on microeconomics and labor policy.
