Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Societyمعرفی
Christophe Lefevre serves as a Research Director at CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) within the Department of Inorganic Materials Chemistry at IPCMS (Institut de Physique et Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg), affiliated with the University of Strasbourg. His research program bridges fundamental materials science with applied technologies through collaborations including the Dassault-Aviation Joint Research Lab Moliere.
Dr. Lefevre earned his PhD from Université Henri Poincaré (Nancy) in 2004, followed by postdoctoral work at CEA (Valduc) and the Max Planck Institut (Stuttgart). He completed his Habilitation at the University of Strasbourg in 2014 and was promoted from Associate Scientist (2008-2022) to Research Director at CNRS in 2022. His international experience includes a Visiting Professorship at Ewha Womens University in Seoul (2012-2013).
His primary research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of functional oxides, particularly spinel compounds (CoFe2O4, FeV2O4) and multiferroic Ga2-xFexO3 materials. He specializes in advanced X-ray techniques including resonant elastic X-ray scattering (REXS), Le Bail & Rietveld analyses, and has developed the FitREXS software for simulation and refinement of diffraction spectra. His work addresses fundamental questions in structure-property relationships while targeting applications in spintronics, magnetism, and energy conversion technologies.
Analysis of his recent publications (2022-2025) reveals a strong emphasis on multiferroic gallium ferrite systems, with particular attention to magnetic properties, crystallographic structure determination, and electronic behavior under various conditions. His research demonstrates methodological innovation in materials characterization alongside practical applications in aerospace technologies through the MOLIERE Joint Laboratory.
Dr. Lefevre contributes to multiple research networks including the CRPP (Competent Radiological Protection Person) certification and participates in interdisciplinary collaborations spanning physics, chemistry, and engineering domains. His work on iron oxide nanoparticles, catalytic materials, and thin film systems demonstrates the breadth of his research program while maintaining focus on structure-property relationships in functional materials.
