Christophe DURAND is a Professor at the University of Caen Normandy, affiliated with the Faculty of Sports Science (UFR STAPS) at Campus 2 in Caen, France.
His research focuses on the intersection of public policy and sports governance, particularly examining institutional frameworks that regulate ethical conduct in professional sports. As leader of the PPVD (Public Policies, Voting and Democracy) research pole, he investigates how regulatory mechanisms address issues such as violence and incivility in professional football, with special attention to the French men's professional football championship.
Professor DURAND maintains active research supervision, recently co-supervising doctoral work with colleagues from the University of Rouen-Normandy's CETAPS research center. His work bridges sports administration with democratic governance principles.
