Christoph Wünsch is the President and Professor of Music Theory at the Würzburg University of Music. He holds a doctorate in musicology with minors in philosophy and psychology. Previously, he served as a lecturer at the University of Bamberg and University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg, and as a professor of music theory at Detmold University of Music. His artistic work spans theater and silent film music, jazz, and music with new media. He has held a visiting professorship at the University of North Texas (2002). Notable compositions include the saxophone concerto (2012) and a quartet for two pianos and percussion (premiered 2021 in Brussels). He is co-editor of the Lexikon des Orchesters and authored influential textbooks on music theory and pedagogy.
