Christoph Traxler is Lecturer and Research Group Leader at TU Wien's Faculty of Informatics, concurrently serving as Head of GeoSMAQ research group at VRVis Research Center. His work develops visualization frameworks for geospatial data and planetary exploration, with applications in infrastructure monitoring and space mission planning.
He created the PRo3D (Planetary Robotics 3D Viewer) software adopted by ESA for Mars rover missions, enabling geological analysis of 3D terrain reconstructions. Current projects include tunnel boring machine monitoring systems using VR interfaces and GIS platforms for the Hera asteroid mission.
Dr. Traxler teaches courses on fractal geometry and advanced visualization techniques. His research group collaborates with space agencies (ESA, NASA), geological surveys, and civil engineering firms to develop interactive 3D analysis tools.
