Christoph Steinert is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich, leading the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)-funded project An Empirical Study of the United Nations Human Rights Complaint Mechanisms. He also holds postdoctoral positions at the University of Geneva and the University of St. Gallen, and serves as a Policy Fellow for "Diplomacy and International Actors" at the Swiss think tank Foraus.

Recent publications explore topics like the Belt and Road Initiative's influence on UN voting patterns, environmental pollution's impact on authoritarian politics, and the socioeconomic biases in international human rights remedies. These studies span methodologies from survival analysis to comparative case studies.
