Christoph Patrick Beier

Christoph Patrick Beier is a Clinical Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), affiliated with Odense University Hospital (OUH) in both the Department of Clinical Research and the Centre for Innovative Medical Technology (CIMT) in Odense. With over 19 years of academic experience since 2005, Dr. Beier leads the epilepsy research group focused on improving treatment for patients with difficult-to-treat generalized epilepsies and status epilepticus.

Dr. Beier's research focuses on customizing existing treatment options to individual patients to accelerate treatment, achieve seizure freedom faster, and minimize antiseizure medication side effects. His work spans:

• Personalized approaches for generalized epilepsies
• Management of status epilepticus and super-refractory status epilepticus
• Long-term outcomes following status epilepticus
• Antiseizure medication optimization
• Endophenotyping of idiopathic generalized epilepsies
