Christoph Erhard

Christoph Erhard is a lecturer and Senior Innovation Manager at Dresden University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Automotive Engineering, since 2006. He specializes in acoustics and commercial vehicle development, leveraging over 20 years of industry experience at Mercedes-Benz.

His education:

• Dipl.-Ing. Mechanical Engineering, Universität Kaiserslautern (1981-1986)
• Dr.-Ing., Universität Kaiserslautern (1991); Dissertation: "Acoustical and gasdynamical layout of 3 muffler exhaust systems"

Research interests: Acoustics, NVH, Automotive Engineering, and Commercial Vehicle Development. His work focuses on exhaust system design and noise control for heavy-duty vehicles.

Erhard led global NVH testing for Mercedes-Benz Trucks (2004-2018), building the NVH department at Kässbohrer SETRA and managing international testing activities in Japan, Brazil, and the USA.
