معرفی
Christoph Bräuchle is Full Professor of Physical Chemistry at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), holding the Chair since 1988. Elected to the Academia Europaea (2009) and Bavarian Academy of Sciences (2002), he represents Germany in chemical sciences with research centered on single-molecule and nanoparticle manipulation.
Education
- PhD in Physical Chemistry, LMU München (1978)
- Habilitation in Physical Chemistry, LMU München (1982)
Professor Bräuchle pioneers single-molecule spectroscopy techniques for imaging and manipulating individual molecules and nanoparticles in biological and nanoscale systems. His work bridges physical chemistry, chemical physics, and nanotechnology, revealing fundamental molecular dynamics through advanced optical methods. This research drives innovation in bio-nanoscience with applications from drug delivery to quantum materials.
Scientific Recognition
- Philip Morris Research Award 'New Ways in Material Science' (1993)
- Karl Heinz Beckurts Preis (2002)
- Nobel Symposium Invited Presentation, Stockholm (2008)
- Academia Europaea Membership (2009)
With continuous LMU appointments since 1981 including Assistant Professorship (1984-1986) and postdoctoral work at IBM San José (1979-1980), Bräuchle maintains leadership through guest professorships at UCLA and University Paris. His trusteeship at Deutsches Museum Munich since 2006 demonstrates commitment to science communication and heritage preservation alongside active research.
