Christoph Baumann serves as the Deputy Head of the Strategy Division and Envoy for Sustainable Finance at the Swiss State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF), leading Switzerland's sustainable finance initiatives in multilateral negotiations and domestic policy. He is also a Fellow at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
His academic background includes an LLM in International Law from the University of London and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Zurich, complemented by CFA charterholder status. These qualifications underpin his expertise in legal and economic frameworks for sustainable financial systems.
Baumann's research focuses on sustainable finance mechanisms, climate policy integration, and international regulatory alignment. He actively shapes global financial architecture through leadership roles in the International Platform on Sustainable Finance and G20 initiatives, emphasizing transition finance frameworks and systemic alignment of capital flows with climate goals.
