Christine Schneider is a jazz pianist and educator at the University of Music Würzburg's Jazz, Rock, and Pop Department. After studying to become a teacher in the Netherlands and graduating in jazz piano from Hilversum Conservatorium (with mentors Frans Elsen, Jan Huydts, and Rob Madna), she led her own trio in Amsterdam and collaborated with renowned musicians like Ferdinand Povel and Ack van Rooyen. Her career includes international tours in Spain, Russia, France, Indonesia, and Malaysia, and she has served as a freelance musician and piano teacher in Germany since 2002.
Her research interests focus on jazz piano pedagogy, ensemble training, and cross-cultural musical collaborations. She teaches within one of Germany's most traditional jazz departments, emphasizing individual creativity and technical mastery.
Christine is associated with the University of Music Würzburg's vibrant jazz program, which offers bachelor's and master's degrees in artistic and pedagogical jazz performance. The department hosts workshops, international partnerships, and events like the annual Jazz Department Opening Meeting.
