Christine Markham

Christine Markham is a Professor and Director of Clinical Experience at SUNY Sullivan County Community College's School of Education. She holds a SUNY system graduate degree and has over 34 years of experience in secondary education, including teaching English and serving as Department Chair at Clarkstown High School North until her 2004 retirement. At STAC, she transitioned from an adjunct role in the Humanities Division to the School of Education, where she currently coordinates student teaching programs and clinical experiences with local school districts.

Her professional recognitions include awards from the NYS English Council, Westchester English Council, national PTSA, Columbia University, and induction into the Clarkstown Central School District Academic Hall of Fame (2008). Her work focuses on teacher development and curriculum design, bridging theory and practice through clinical fieldwork.

As Director of Clinical Experience, she oversees student teaching placements, ensuring alignment with regional schools. Her career highlights include fostering educator training and advocating for effective pedagogical practices in English and secondary education.
