Dr. Christine Lisetti is an Associate Professor at Florida International University's Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences and directs the Affective Social Computing Lab. She holds a Ph.D. from FIU (1995) and conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University. Her research focuses on developing socially intelligent agents for health communication, behavior change, and educational training. She has secured grants from NIH, NSF, ONR, and industry partners like Intel. Notable awards include the 2000 AAAI Nils Nilsson Award. She is on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing and has pioneered virtual training systems for teachers and healthcare agents.
Dr. Lisetti's work spans affective computing, virtual agents, and human-robot interaction. Key projects include IVT-T (Interactive Virtual Training for Teachers) and health-focused digital agents.
