معرفی
Christine Jansen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Immunology at Wageningen University & Research. Her research focuses on avian and porcine immunology, viral diseases, and host-pathogen interactions. Key areas include innate immune responses in poultry, macrophage functionality, and vaccine development for avian influenza and PEDV.
- PhD supervision includes studies on trained immunity in chicken NK cells, mucosal immunity in pigs, and heat stress effects on poultry immunity.
- Co-leads projects on genomics of PRRS host-pathogen interactions and health impacts of insect-based poultry feed.
Her work combines experimental immunology with genomic approaches, addressing challenges in livestock disease prevention. Notable contributions include studies on citrus pectin's immunomodulatory effects and zinc's role in inhibiting viral replication.
Collaborates extensively in international networks, contributing datasets on gut microbiota-immune system interactions in early life livestock. Active in academic service, overseeing multiple PhD defenses and organizing conferences on immunology and genomics.
