Christine Holten

Christine Holten is a Lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she has served since 1988. She currently holds the position of Director of Writing Programs within the Humanities Division of UCLA College. Her research focuses on improving writing pedagogy through methods such as writing conferences, grammar integration in instruction, and composition tutoring. She has extensively explored portfolio assessment strategies and developed ESL-focused curricula, including two textbooks designed for advanced English language learners. Christine has also supervised Teaching Assistants in Applied Linguistics and Engineering, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration in educational support.
