Christine Caputo is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science at the University of New Hampshire's College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, leading the Caputo Group research team.
She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario, M.S. from McGill University, and B.S. from Carleton University. Her lab focuses on designing organic/organometallic complexes for photocatalytic applications, particularly sustainable fuel production.
Research Focus: Her team develops earth-abundant metal catalysts for converting small molecules (CO, CO₂) into fuel precursors using sunlight, employing photochemical, electrochemical, and spectroscopic methods.
Teaching: Instructs courses across the chemistry curriculum including:
- CHEM 545: Organic Chemistry
- CHEM 774/874: Inorganic Chemistry
- Graduate research mentoring
Research Output: Publications demonstrate consistent focus on solar fuel technologies, with recent work (2021-2024) emphasizing single-atom catalysts and carbon nitride materials for CO₂ reduction.
