معرفی
Christine Brainson, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Toxicology and Cancer Biology since 2016. She leads the Molecular and Cellular Oncology Program and co-leads the Markey Cancer Center's Cancer Research Priority Initiative. Her work bridges stem cell biology and epigenetics to develop precision therapies for lung cancer.
- Education
- Bachelor of Arts, Middlebury College (2002)
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Tufts University (2009)
- Postdoctoral Fellow, Harvard Medical School/Children's Hospital Boston (2016)
Research Focus: Epigenetic control of lung stem cells and cancer, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Key projects include:
- Cell-of-origin fitness in NSCLC subtypes
- Epigenetic inhibitors in tumor treatment
- Precision medicine for EGFR-mutant cancers
- Computational modeling of drug resistance
- Geographic disparities in Appalachian cancer outcomes
Recent Articles (2025): Explore epigenetic mechanisms in EGFR-addicted tumorigenesis, computational predictions of resistance, and glycogen's role in lung adenocarcinoma. Collaborative work spans oncology, metabolism, and bioinformatics.
