Christina Pontoppidan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences and the Department of Political Science and Public Management/Journalism. She specializes in rhetoric, argumentation theory, and media discourse.
- PhD in Rhetoric (SDU, 2023)
- MA in Rhetoric (University of Copenhagen, 2007)
- BA in Philosophy and Rhetoric (University of Copenhagen, 2000-2004)
Her research focuses on persuasive strategies in leadership communication, framing theory in journalism, and rhetorical invention in public discourse. She developed a rhetorical-topical argument model and analyzed media framing ethics.
Recent publications examine angle conceptualization in Danish journalism textbooks and innovative argumentation frameworks. Her work bridges classical rhetoric with modern communication challenges.
