Christina Lutter is a Professor at the University of Vienna, affiliated with the Institute for Austrian Historical Research (IÖG). She serves as Dean of the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies and is a Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Her academic career includes leading major research projects and international collaborations, with a Distinguished Visiting Austrian Chair at Stanford University scheduled for 2027.

Recent publications examine 15th-century Central European conflicts, gendered dimensions of Habsburg politics, and kinship systems in medieval cities. She co-edits the Cultural Studies book series (Löcker) and contributes to the Zeitschrift für Kulturwissenschaften editorial boards.
