Christina Keaulana serves as Assistant Professor and SPED Coordinator in the Department of Education within Leeward Community College's Social Science Division at the University of Hawai‘i. She actively shapes special education policy and teacher preparation through multiple leadership roles across the UH system and state education agencies.
Her academic credentials include:
- BA in English and Asian Studies from Brandeis University
- MA and MEd in Special Education from University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
- PhD in Education from University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
Dr. Keaulana's work focuses on Special Education, Disability Studies, and culturally responsive practices for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. She leads initiatives addressing teacher shortages through the UH-HIDOE SPED Stipend project and collaborates with the Center on Disability Studies to support professionals working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
