Christina Heatherton is an Associate Professor of American Studies and the Everett and Joanne Elting Associate Professor for Human Rights and Global Citizenship at Trinity College since 2014. She is the founding Co-Director of the Trinity Social Justice Institute and Director of Graduate Studies in American Studies. She co-hosts the public humanities web series/podcast Conjuncture. Her research focuses on movements for social change, including global radicalism, policing, and racial capitalism.
Education: Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Southern California, B.A. from UC Berkeley.
Her major publications include Arise! Global Radicalism in the Era of the Mexican Revolution (2022), honored as a best book by The Progressive and Chronicle of Higher Education, and Policing the Planet (2016), featured on critical reading lists. Current projects include Shadows without Bodies and Grounded Ways of Knowing.
