Dr. Christina Gahn is a Research Fellow (PostDoc) at the Department of Government, University of Vienna. She earned her doctorate in political science from the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin). Her research focuses on political targeting in electoral campaigns, public opinion dynamics, and the impact of social media on political communication. Key publications include studies on voter backlash against tailored messages and the role of margins of error in polling.

Her work explores how political parties tailor messages to target groups in multi-party democracies across Europe. Recent findings were featured in European Journal of Political Research and The International Journal of Press/Politics. Collaborations include studies with Werner Krause on election surveys’ impact and analyses of European Parliament elections. Her research bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical methods, including factorial surveys and social media data.
