Dr. Christina Donovan is a Senior Lecturer in Further Education & Training, specializing in vocational education policy and trust dynamics in educational systems. She actively participates in research networks such as the Narrative Research Network (Education) and Pedagogy and Curriculum Research Network. Her work focuses on standards-based reforms, cross-national comparisons of vocational training (e.g., Austria/UK), and the socio-political dimensions of trust in educational policy. She has examined over a dozen PhD theses including roles as examiner for critical studies on technical education discourse and ESOL classroom innovation. Recent collaborations include Swiss apprenticeship culture studies and Austrian VET teacher development analyses.
Research interests include dismantling hierarchies in further education through democratic professionalism, analyzing distrust mechanisms in policy design, and fostering collaborative learning cultures.
