Christina Brock

Christina Brock is a Professor at Aalborg University and Aalborg University Hospital, affiliated with The Faculty of Medicine's Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She bridges clinical, academic, and life-science environments through her veterinary surgeon background and PhD in human biology.

Her research focuses on the autonomic nervous system at the intersection of neurophysiology, diabetes, and gastroenterology. She established a state-of-the-art autonomic laboratory for mechanistic studies and clinical trials. Her work includes vagal nerve stimulation, GLP-1, and diabetic microvascular complications, particularly with finerenon's anti-fibrotic potential.

She teaches medical students at Bachelor's and Master's levels, supervising 18 PhD and 19 Master's students. Her leadership roles include securing €3.7 million in funding, serving on NEUROdiab's executive board, and advising Harvard Medical School's Office of Global Education.

Recent publications highlight her expertise in diabetic gastroenteropathy, autonomic neuropathy, and vagus nerve stimulation, with clinical trials published in Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, Diabetologia, and Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics.
