Christin Höne is an Assistant Professor in Literary Studies, affiliated with the Department of Letteren en Kunst at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary anglophone literature, postcolonial studies, sound studies, and queer theory. She examines colonial and postcolonial literature through the lens of sound technology, radio history in imperial India, and the intersection of music with identity in South Asian contexts.
Her work bridges literary analysis with cultural and technological histories, particularly exploring how sound and media shaped colonial and postcolonial narratives. Notable publications include Music and Identity in Postcolonial British South-Asian Literature (2015), co-edited volumes like Asian Sound Cultures (2022), and contributions to journals such as South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies.
Höne's research also addresses anti-LGBT legislation legacies in former British colonies, integrating queer theory into postcolonial discourse. She has edited special journal issues on sensory studies in late colonial India and co-authored creative nonfiction narratives about academic research processes.
