Prof. Christian Wey holds the Chair of Economics, specializing in Competition and Regulatory Economics at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE), Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf since 2010. Previously, he served as a Professor at Technische Universität Berlin and led the Information Society and Competition Department at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW). He earned his PhD (Dr. rer. pol.) from Saarland University (1998), MA in Economics from Indiana University (1997), and completed his Habilitation at Humboldt University Berlin (2003).
His research focuses on market power in intermediary goods markets, merger analysis, network economics, and regulatory policies. Teaching includes Microeconomics, Industrial Economics, and Network Economy at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Recent work addresses energy policy interventions, vertical integration dynamics, and pricing strategies in oligopolistic markets.
