Christian Staerk is Professor of Biostatistical Methods for Environmental Medicine (joint appointment with IUF – Leibniz Research Institute) at TU Dortmund University since April 2024. He holds a PhD in Mathematics/Statistics from RWTH Aachen (2018), an MSc in Mathematics from RWTH Aachen (2014), and a BSc in Mathematics from RWTH Aachen (2012), with study abroad at University of Birmingham (2012-2013).
His research develops statistical methods for high-dimensional biomedical data, computational statistics techniques, and analyses of gene-environment interactions. These methodological innovations support environmental health research through advanced modeling approaches.
Before joining TU Dortmund, Prof. Staerk served as Interim Professor of Computational Statistics at RWTH Aachen (2023-2024) and conducted research at University of Bonn (2019-2023) and RWTH Aachen (2014-2019), building expertise in statistical computing for medical applications.
