Christian Skelmose Jensen is a Researcher at the Department of Sustainability and Planning, The Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Aalborg University, Denmark, with research centered on engineering education, sustainable development, and problem-based learning.
His key research interests include:
- Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodologies
- Engineering Education for Sustainable Development
- STEM Education integration and STEMification
- Action Competence in educational contexts
- Mathematical Modeling applications in societal issues
Recent publications (2023-2025) reveal a cohesive focus on revitalizing educational ideals through action competence in engineering curricula and analyzing STEM teaching approaches in high schools, while also exploring mathematical modeling for real-world societal challenges like housing vulnerability and consumer decisions.
He leads the LabSTEM Nord project (2021-2025) as Principal Investigator and contributes to the Active Science Scenarier project (2025-2028), both advancing STEM education through problem-based learning frameworks in Danish educational contexts.
Jensen actively collaborates with researchers including Lene B. Bertel and Susanne Hansen, organizing the annual LabSTEM Nord conferences and presenting on engineering-biodiversity integration and STEM competence development at national events.
